BLACKFOOT — All season long the buzz up and down the Snake River plain has been about how good the Rigby High School softball team has been.
The Trojans have been hitting the ball well and hitting it with power keeping them in close games and even beating some of East Idaho's top teams.
Rigby visited Blackfoot on Thursday for a 4A District 5/6 doubleheader with the Broncos.
And while the Trojans did hit the ball during the afternoon, it was one bad inning in game one that cost the Broncos the chance of a doubleheader sweep.

BLACKFOOT — After watching their one run led slip away in the top of the seventh inning on a wild throw that allowed a run to score, the Blackfoot Lady Broncos knew they had to aggressive if they wanted to pull out a win and end the crosstown rival Panthers 13-game winning streak.
The Broncos were just that.

RIVERSIDE — Opening the season winners of their first 12 games, the Snake River Lady Panthers have done all of the little things well enough to win ballgames.
Playing solid defense, hitting the ball and getting good pitching have be a constant for the team all season.
They also have not trailed very often this season.
But that normally solid Snake River defense showed some cracks on Friday against District opponent Bear Lake, but the offense made up for the mistakes as an eight-run fifth inning gave the Panthers a 15-5 win over the Bears at Riverside Elementary School.

Pearson’s homer the difference in Broncos 3-2 win over Rigby

April 10, 2014

BLACKFOOT — It wasn't the prettiest game the Blackfoot Broncos have played all season, it also wasn't the best performance by a pair of umpires either.
But despite some bad calls and the Broncos running themselves out of a few runs, Blackfoot was able to hang on for a 3-2 win over Rigby Thursday at Blackfoot High School.
