Lady Broncos finish in 0-0 draw

October 1, 2010

BLACKFOOT — Things just got tighter at the top of the High Country Conference girls soccer standings as the Blackfoot Lady Broncos worked their way to a 0-0 tie with the visiting Lady Bees on Thursday afternoon.
"They did a lot better job today than they did last game in terms of marking up and stuff," Blackfoot head coach Scott Stufflebeam said. "We didn't have people flowing through the defense as much and that is better. We still aren't there. We still aren't as tight marking up on the defensive side that we need to be but it was an improvement which I am glad to see."

FIRTH — Sometimes it's hard to imagine the future when the present is so difficult. On Wednesday evening the Firth volleyball team suffered a 3 set loss to West Side but in the end steady improvement of the predominantly underclassmen laden roster still shined through.
"I really think that these girls will be a force," Firth head coach Carla Reeves said. "They are so young but for the next couple of years they will be dominant but it is hard for the seniors this year."

On Wednesday afternoon the Lady Eagles came calling looking too even the season series but came up short as Snake River once again prevailed by that same 1-0 score.
"We had the luckiest outcome that we could have had today," Snake River head coach Randy Turpin said. "Marsh Valley outplayed us today and could have won this game 4-1."

Where has the fall sports season gone?

September 27, 2010

Where has the fall sports season gone? On the pitch area teams will be wrapping up their regular seasons in the next two weeks. Volleyball and cross country are right behind them and, to be perfectly honest, the only thing that I know for a certainty is that I have no clear idea of who will emerge from their respective leagues for a state tournament trip.

The visiting Cougars on the other hand came out fast, taking an 8-2 lead before the Panthers began chipping away.
