THOMAS — 3A powerhouses collided on the hardwood at Snake River High School on Wednesday evening as the top two ranked 3A teams in the state locked horns for the first of what will be several showdowns this season.
Last year, the two teams were as close as they could be as Marsh Valley dropped Snake River on three different occasions by a grand total of five points. Wednesday, Snake River got over the proverbial hump as they erased those memories with a hard fought, physical 49-46 victory.
"Marsh Valley and Snake River. Neither one of us are going away after this one game but it was nice to get a win against them," Snake River head coach Rich Dunn said. "I don't think that they shot the ball as well as they have or can tonight so when we go to their place we will need to tighten it up even more."
