POCATELLO â At the end of Saturdayâs first practice Idaho State volleyball head coach Chad Teichert asked his team who was going to win the Big Sky Championship.
The response, a resounding âwe areâ.
POCATELLO â There was an a theme to Idaho State head football coach Mike Kramer's pre-fall camp press conference Thursday afternoon and it was simple; the defense must get better.
Anyone who sat through an ISU football game last season knows that the Bengals defense was the poorest in the nation.
POCATELLO â The last time the Idaho State soccer team was on the pitch at Davis Field they were celebrating a Big Sky Conference Championship.
During that weekend in November freshman goalie Sheridan Hapsic, helped propel the Bengals to the title after coming up with two huge saves during shoot out wins over Weber State in the semifinals and Montana in the finals.
CHUBBUCK â A week ago the Snake River Lady Panthers softball team struggled to an 0-4 weekend at the Snake River Summer Smash in Idaho Falls.
Friday afternoon the Panthers took the field of Capell Park in Chubbuck for the opening day of the Poky Shootout softball tournament.
Early on in the day the results were much better as the team downed the Utah Aftershock 9-2 in the opening round of pool play.
Over the last few weeks in newspapers all over the state I have seen lists of the top high school football games for the 2013 season.
While each list was intriguing in its own way and offered views and opinions on why each game was important, each also had stipulations in which the authors limited themselves to only district games or some other inconsequential subject.
BLACKFOOT â It is finally here.
After what seems like an eternity the 2013 high school football season will get underway next week as teams all over the state will lace up their cleats and don the pads and helmets to begin practice.
POCATELLO â Saturdayâs agenda for the Blackfoot Broncos was simple; win two games and advance to Sundayâs second place game and still have a chance to earn a spot in next weekâs state tournament.
Any loss and the Broncos season would come to an end.
