SHELLEY — Kaden Schmitt passed for 191 yards and five touchdowns as Shelley pounded Pocatello 41-14 in non-conference play on Friday.
"I've got to give it up to our offensive line," said Schmitt. "They gave me time and gave my receivers time to get open."

Century spoils Broncos homecoming

BLACKFOOT — After a week off the Blackfoot Broncos took to the field Friday night for homecoming, it was also the 4A District 5/6 opener as the Century Diamondbacks came to town.
There were a lot of fireworks in Blackfoot Friday night, unfortunately for Bronco fans Century made more than the hometown team.

BLACKFOOT — Prior to Wednesday's 4A Fifth/Sixth District game with Rigby, Blackfoot boys soccer coach Liam Pope laid out three things he wanted his team to accomplish during the game.
Those three things were, to keep a clean sheet (allow no goals), put the game away early and control the tempo.

Bengals defense big in 29-3 win

POCATELLO — For the first time since 1999 the Idaho State football team is 2-0. But the 29-3 victory Saturday over Western State Colorado University was not the offensive show many expected.
Instead the much maligned Bengals defense and continued improvement of kicker Brendon Garcia where the keys to victory.

Snake wins defensive battle 7-6

THOMAS — Many people expected Friday night's match-up between the undefeated Snake River and Sugar-Salem football teams to be an offensive shootout.
But instead of an offensive show, those in attendance got a defensive battle won by the Panthers 7-6 on homecoming night at Snake River High School.

BLACKFOOT — When the Blackfoot and Pocatello High School boys soccer teams met in Pocatello last year it took just five minutes for the Broncos to put up five goals on the way to a 15-1 win.
