Panthers roll Beavers 3-0

THOMAS — A week ago the Snake River volleyball squad gutted out a four game victory over Sugar-Salem, looking a little leg weary in the effort. After a rare weekend off, the Lady Panthers retook to their home court looking for a conference win as American Falls came calling.
The rest did the Panthers good as they cruised to a relatively easy 25-7, 25-10, 25-10 victory.
"I think that they came back with a new focus tonight," Snake River head coach Shelli VanOrden said. "I was happy with how they came out and performed."

Panthers blank Tigers 24-0 on homecoming night

THOMAS — It was a new look Snake River team that took to the home field for Friday nights homecoming clash with Aberdeen as the two headed quarterback rotation was scraped in favor for a more traditional single signal caller and the change was effective as the Panthers sent their large crowd away happy with a 24-0 whitewashing of the Tigers.

Late score lifts Broncos to homecoming win

BLACKFOOT — Colby Pearson hauled in a six yard touchdown strike from Trae Pilster with :30 remaining on the clock on Friday evening and the Blackfoot Broncos emerged victorious in their homecoming game with a 27-22 victory over the Madison Bobcats.
The touchdown was quickly followed by a catch by Gabby Maldonado who scored the two point conversion, making the final score 29-22.
The Bronco’s hosted the Bobcats in what was not only Blackfoot’s homecoming game it was also the continuation of the annual Buck Bowl, as brothers Stan and Mitch’s teams faced off.

Panthers spike Cougars 3-1

THOMAS — Hard to believe but the Snake River volleyball squad dropped a game on Thursday evening. Of course, that hiccup was offset by their normal dominating selves in the other three games in which they won as they emerged victorious with a 25-16, 25-19, 17-25, 25-12 non-conference win over South Fremont.
"It's homecoming week and we just weren't as focused as we normally are," Snake River head coach Shelli VanOrden said.

Broncos gallop to 49-21 win in River Rivarly game

BLACKFOOT — The return of the River Rivalry game is in the books as the Blackfoot Broncos posted a 49-21 victory over the visiting Snake River Panthers on Friday night.
The game was filled with big plays as the two teams combined for nearly 700 yards of offense and a pair of kick off returns for scores before a capacity crowd.
"We anticipated that there would be some big plays," Blackfoot head coach Stan Buck said. "We have some play makers and they have some play makers and it's exciting for the kids and exciting for the fans and it's fun to watch."

Panthers pounce on Diggers 3-1

THOMAS — It's been a grueling two week stretch for the defending 3A state champion Snake River Panther volleyball squad and on Thursday evening, that tough road got even tougher as the always tough Sugar-Salem Diggers came calling for a non-conference tilt on the court.
"Sugar and Bear Lake always bring their very best game against us," Snake River head coach Shelli VanOrden said. "I was pleased with how the girls came out and played tonight."

The River Rivalry game is back!

BLACKFOOT — The River Rivalry is back! Yes folks, the ages old rivalry game between the Blackfoot Broncos and the Snake River Panthers will resume on Friday night and despite being in kept in limbo for over a decade, the game should no doubt stir memories of times gone by as the entire community will sit up and take notice.
When last we visited the Battle for Bingham County, the Panthers were in the midst of the Tom Harrison era a golden time that saw the Panthers reel off 54 straight wins, including seven state championships in an eight year span.

Bees take round one, 3-2 over Broncos

BLACKFOOT — The top two teams in the High Country Conference squared off on the pitch at Blackfoot High School on Thursday afternoon as the undefeated Broncos took on the undefeated Bees in a classic soccer showdown.
In a back and forth affair, the Bees showed why they are the defending 4A state champions as they tallied a pair of second half goals to escape with a 3-2 victory.
