Ardith Ogden Cammack, a 73-year-old Blackfoot resident, died Saturday, Nov. 12, 2011 at the LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah following a long illness.
She was born Dec. 9, 1937, in Blackfoot, the daughter of Arthur Bobkin Ogden and Helen Parks Ogden.
She is a lifelong resident of the Blackfoot area, having attended schools and graduating from Snake River High School.
She was married to Ward Cammack on Aug. 8, 1956, in the Idaho Falls, Idaho, LDS Temple. As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints she had been active as the stake camp director and over the stake softball program. She also served as a councilor and as president of the Relief Society.
Ardith had worked many years in the clerkâ€™s office for Bingham County at the courthouse and also in custodial services for the LDS Church.
She enjoyed reading and watching sports. She especially enjoyed her family and watching her grandchildren in their athletics. She was also active in politics, having run for Bingham County Treasurer and the Blackfoot City Council.
Survivors include her husband Ward of Blackfoot, three sons, Kevin (Carolyn) Cammack, South Jordan, Utah; Bryan (Trina) Cammack, Firth; David (Ruth) Cammack, Moses Lake, Wash.; two daughters, Annette Cammack, Phoenix, Ariz.; and Michelle (Ruben) Quezada, Moses Lake, Wash.; three foster children, Elmarie Snipe and Sandy Jackson, both of Fort Hall, and Charlie Whitebuffalo of Martin, South Dakota; 17 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, Darrell Ogden, Burley, and Doug Ogden, Caldwell, and two sisters, Margene Witt, Idaho Falls, and Loujean Bell of El Cajon, Calif.
Ardith was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Merlin and Gareth Ogden.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 17, at the Blackfoot 2nd Ward on Teton Drive with Bishop Collin Cook conducting.
The family will meet with friends on Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at the Hawker Funeral Home and again on Thursday at the church for an hour prior to services.
Interment will be in the Riverside Thomas Cemetery under the direction of the Hawker Funeral Home. Condolences can be sent to the family at firstname.lastname@example.org
