Arlis Lloyd Morris Jr., 64
Arlis Lloyd Morris Jr., 64, passed away peacefully at his home in Kathleen, Ga., on Jan. 20, 2011.
Lloyd was the second of four children born to Arlis Lloyd and Lena Myree Haynie Morris in Wichita Falls, Texas.Â As a small child he moved with his family to Arco where his father worked as an electrician at the AEC (INEL).Â He attended schools in Butte County and excelled in football, basketball and track.Â Lloyd graduated in 1965.
After graduation Lloyd joined the United States Air Force, proudly serving a full tour of duty in Vietnam.Â He was honorable discharged in 1970.Â Lloyd then joined the Iron Workers Union and worked in various places which he enjoyed immensely.Â He was working in Las Vegas for Vegas Steel as a job supervisor at the time of his early retirement.
Lloyd was an avid Harley Rider and belonged to many different motorcycle clubs in the areas of Blackfoot, Pocatello and Idaho Falls and also in California and Arizona.Â To him there was nothing better than riding his Harley down the road.
Lloyd loved being married; his wives include: Linda K. Knight, Sharon Elaine Jones, Christy Betzer, Kim L. Mower, and again Linda K. Knight.Â Linda K. and Lloyd married on May 7, 1966. and again on June 5, 1995, and renewed their vows again September 7, 1996, in front of family and friends.Â Lloyd said she was the greatest love of his life and he never wanted to let her go again.
Surviving is his wife Linda K. Morris of Kathleen, Ga.; his children: Michael Dan Blosch, Idaho Falls; Tamara Kay Morris, Warner Robins, Ga.; Arlissa Elaine Tupper, California and Alex Lloyd Morris of Pocatello; his stepchildren: Brenda Kay Betzer-Sneed, Idaho Falls; and David Eugene Bowers Jr., North Carolina; and several grandchildren, his siblings: Eunice Ann Bell, Arco; Steve L. Morris, Aberdeen; and Carol Ruiz, Riverside, Calif.; three nieces: Vicki Inez Helderman, Carrie Lyn and Michelle Ybarra.
A private family memorial service will be held later this summer under the direction of the Anderson Family Funeral Home of Arco.Â Memorials may be sent to Linda K. Morris, 146 Heard Road, Kathleen, GA 31047.
