BernaDean Jones Harward Moldenhauer, 89
“Grammie”, 89, lifetime Blackfoot resident, passed away Friday, Feb, 28, 2014 at the Gables.
She was born June 13, 1924 in Idaho Falls, to John Thomas and Edna Estella Bradley Jones. She attended school in Blackfoot.
On June 7, 1944 she married Phillip Sinclair Harward, in Annapolis, Maryland. As Phillip was in the Navy, they had the opportunity to travel and live in different places.
They lived in Africa, Florida, New Mexico, Texas and Idaho. Phillip preceded BernaDean in death on Jan. 27, 1961. She married Robert M. “Bob” Moldenhauer on Aug. 12, 1965 in Blackfoot. They made their home in Blackfoot, where she has resided since. Bob preceded her in death on Sept. 27, 2007.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
BernaDean loved singing and sang with the Sweet Adelines. She was a member of the Lady Lions Club.
She worked as a bookkeeper for Lloyd Ralphs accounting.
Grammie loved to snow-bird to Lake Havasu, Ariz. where she was the “activities coordinator” for the park. She enjoyed reading and loved playing games, especially “May I” with her children and grandchildren. She was active at the Blackfoot Senior Center and volunteered at the Veterans Home in Pocatello. She also loved playing Bingo, helping others with their cards and filling her candy dish with her winnings.
She is survived by her children: Pat Hollingshaus of Highland, Utah; Phillip (Patricia) Harvard of France; DeEtte (Art) Edgson of New Zealand; Rocky (Dawn) Moldenhauer, of Blackfoot; Mike (Nancy) Harward, of Cincinnati, Ohio; Julia Kay (Tonu) Tumanuvao, of Orem, Utah; two brothers, Eugene (Norma) Jones of Blackfoot and Jerry (Pat) Jones of Island Park; 38 grandchildren 56 great- grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by both of her husbands, her parents and two daughters, Chris Elison and Cathleen Davidson; two brothers, Calvin Jones and Darrold Jones and a sister, Gwenevere Townsend.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 8, 2014 at the Blackfoot 6th Ward Chapel. The family will meet with friends and relatives from 6-8 p.m. Friday, March 7, 2014 at Hawker Funeral Home and again for one hour prior to services at the church.
Interment will be at a later date in Grove City Cemetery.
