Berniece Melba Jones, 69, of Blackfoot passed away, Monday, July 4, 2011, at Bingham Memorial Hospital.
She was born Dec. 1, 1941, in Aberdeen to William and Christine Morris.
Berniece was raised in Aberdeen and attended grade school and high school there.Â She studied nursing at Idaho State University and continued her studies while she worked as a registered nurse in Boise and Portland, Ore.Â She moved to Blackfoot in the early 70â€™s and had resided there since.Â She worked as a registered nurse atÂ Bingham Memorial Hospital until her retirement.
On Feb. 16, 1973, she married Terrel D. Jones in Aberdeen.Â Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Berniece enjoyed scrapbooking, photography, growing cactus and spending time with family.
She is survived by her husband, Terrel of Blackfoot; daughters, Tammy (David) Petsche of Boise and Cindy Jones of Blackfoot; brother, Don Morris of American Falls and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
The family will meet with friends from 10-10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 6, 2011, at the Hawker Funeral Home, 132 S. Shilling Ave.Â A graveside service will follow at the Grove City Cemetery with Bishop Michael Inskeep conducting.
