Beverly Joy Goodman, 84

Beverly Joy Goodman, 84, of Groveland passed away at her home on Aug. 6, 2014.
Beverly was born on Oct. 18, 1929 in Provo, Utah, to John Glen Olsen and Ellen Bendall.
She attended and graduated from Provo High School. After graduation she married S. Dale Goodman on Sept. 10, 1949, in Provo, Utah. Theirs was a classic tale of love at first sight. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on June 13, 1950.
Beverly and Dale began their lives together in Provo and then moved to Orem where they began to raise a family. In 1973 they moved to Sterling, Idaho and then to the Moreland area in 1976, where they operated a grocery store. They settled down permanently in Groveland in 1981.
She worked as a nurse's aide in the Utah Valley Hospital and went on to become an LPN. She worked as a nurse at the Pocatello Regional Medical Center and also at the Bingham Memorial Hospital. One of her favorite duties as a nurse was to care for the newborn babies and their mothers.
Beverly enjoyed the outdoors, BYU football, traveling, NASCAR, and spending time with her family. Her pride and joy were her grandkids and her pets.
Beverly is survived by her children: John (Mary) Goodman of Richmond, Virginia; Karen (Albert) Townsend of Blackfoot; Reed (Anita) Goodman of Groveland; Marlene (John) Larson of Orem, Utah; Wendy Goodman of Phoenix, Arizona; 17 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren; her sisters Doreen Hansen of Ogden, Utah; and Cheryl Buckner of West Valley, Utah.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dale; her sister, Ilah May; a daughter-in-law, Debi Goodman; and a son-in-law, Darrell Townsend.
