Bingham to show off talent on Friday

May 3, 2011

BLACKFOOT — Several talented performers will take the stage at the Blackfoot Performing Arts Center Friday during the second annual Bingham's Got Talent.
The show will begin at 7 p.m. Admission is $3 at the door. All proceeds from the event will benefit the American Cancer Society and Relay for Life. The event is organized by the Jason Lee Memorial United Methodist Church's Relay team, Angels Among Us.
"We are hoping to draw some great talent and be able to fill the Blackfoot Performing Arts Center with a great audience to enjoy the talent," event chairman Stacy Hastriter said. "This is a very personal and fun way to donate to the American Cancer Society."
A panel of three judges will select the first place winner in two age divisions—under 14 and 14 and over—who will be awarded $100 and a trophy. Brenda Baumgartner Stanley will emcee the event.
The winner of the People's Choice Award—the act that collects the most $1 votes—will receive $50.
Performers can collect money for their vote box throughout the week and can use additional means the night of the event to collect additional votes. Organizers are encouraging participants to collect as many votes as possible prior to the event. All money collected in the vote boxes through People's Choice goes to the American Cancer Society.
Several items will be auctioned throughout the evening including four tickets to a Utah Jazz game next season. Additionally, there will be numerous door prizes from local businesses including On The Spot, Starlite Bowling Lanes, Homestead Family Restaurant, College of Massage Therapy at Bingham Memorial Hospital, Lee's Service and Exhaust Specialists, Stockman's Restaurant and Golden China Restaurant.
