BLACKFOOT â€” Blackfoot Pride Days is this weekend and organizers have planned several events for both adults and children.
The annual event has traditionally been held in June but was moved to July this year with the hope for better weather.
Activities begin Thursday with tours of the Potato Museum from 1-4 p.m. Tours continue Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
Friday is free swim day at the Blackfoot Swimming Pool from 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m. and 1:30-4 p.m. Other free events include an open house at the Bingham Historical Museum, 190 N. Shilling, from 10 a.m.-6 p.m., a "bounce for free" day at Bounce Your World at Jensen Grove from 12-8 p.m. and a live performance by Aztec dance group Danza Asteca Quetzalcoatl at 5:30 p.m. at Jensen Grove. It will also be an open fishing day at Jensen Grove Lake.
Saturday is packed full with a variety of events at Jensen Grove beginning with a triathlon at 8 a.m. Breakfast, sponsored by On the Spot Cleaning and Restoration, will be served from 8-10 a.m.
From 8:30-9 a.m. there will be sprint boat races on the lake.
The Rexburg Legacy Flight Museum will conduct a fly-by at 10:30 a.m., followed by the popular snow machine races at 11 a.m. Bingham County Search and Rescue will host a pulled pork and dutch oven dessert fundraiser from 11 a.m.-4 p.m.
The Pride Days free potato feed, sponsored by Nonpareil, will be from 12-4 p.m. and there will be a motorcycle rodeo sponsored by POW*MIA from 1-4 p.m.
Ongoing throughout the day at Jensen Grove will be a car and bike show, the Blackfoot Lions Club Safety Fair and various activities for children.
