Blackfoot High sends seniors into the world

May 31, 2013

For the Morning News — Jen Andrus Blackfoot High School seniors listen intently as they complete their public school journey on Friday.

Amongst the sea of green and white hats lie the hopes and dreams of Blackfoot High School seniors. The message of the night was clear as classmates spoke of never giving up despite trials and adversity. That's a message designed to carry on in the hearts of each of the seniors in the BHS class of 2013.
The speakers —Tyler Cannon, Jacob Denning, Benjamin Hong and Caitlin Tripp — all sent the message "never give up… pursue your dreams" to the attentive seniors.
Paul Cannon gave a rousing rendition of a French horn solo. With a bright orange vest and a blonde- haired accompanist, Cannon wowed the audience playing not only "Concerto in B flat major" by Gliere, but also "Three Blind Mice" and "Happy Birthday." Miranda Day captivated the audience with her performance of "No Boundaries".
The defining moment for the seniors came at the end of all the pomp and circumstance when the graduates rose and switched their tassels from the right side to the left, signifying a change into adulthood and responsibility.
Parents and friends welcome the Blackfoot High class of 2013 to the world!
