Blackfoot High students earn wide variety of scholarships

May 19, 2012

An impressive amount of scholarships and awards were presented to Blackfoot High School (BHS) 'Class of 2012' students at the 'Honors and Awards' Assembly sponsored by the National Honor Society at the Blackfoot Performing Arts Center last week.
Vicki Johnson, counselor and Dean of Students at BHS, said , "This is a great class, it's very impressive the amount of students who have earned scholarship for themselves...and there are l more to come..."
Johnson said that while the high school does subscribe to an on-line scholarship site for the students, and counselors and teachers are always on hand to help, it's really up to the students to find and research scholarship opportunities.
"These kids have all done a lot of leg work to find and obtain these scholarships," Johnson said. "They've done a great job."
Johnson said she looks forward to reporting more BHS scholarship recipients as not all of the scholarships have been reported at this time.
