Blackfoot kindergartner takes home the beef

April 25, 2012

Rylee Wolfley, a kindergartner at Blackfoot Charter Community Learning Center, recently won the Idaho Beef Council drawing contest with this picture.

The Idaho Beef Council (IBC) recently conducted its second annual educational program called "Cattle are Amazing", created for Idaho's K-6 youth. Three groups competed — K-1st, 2nd-3rd and 4th-6th.
Kindergartner Rylee Wolfley from Blackfoot Charter Community Learning Center (BCCLC) took first prize in the K-1st division with a drawn picture of a cow with green teeth, green because "the cow is eating grass!" Rylee told her teacher Jotien Adams.
Rylee received a $100 gift certificate to Toys R Us and Mrs. Adams received a $250 gift certificate to Staples to use towards supplies. Riley Bigler of Mrs. Dodds' BCCLC kindergarten class also won a $25 gift certificate for honorable mention.
A grand prize will be awarded to the overall winner, who will be taken on a field trip to a local cattle ranch.
