Blackfoot Police make largest marijuana seizure

Last Saturday evening, a Blackfoot police officer conducted a routine traffic stop on Interstate 15 that resulted in seizure of approximately 150 pounds of marijuana.
"This is the largest single seizure of marijuana by the Blackfoot Police Department in 30 years," said Capt. Scott Gay. "With a street value of about $1,000 per pound, the drug seizure is valued at approximately $150,000."
At 6:21 p.m. Cpl. Chad Braswell made the traffic stop near Blackfoot. Arrested at the scene was the driver, Pao Xiong Xiong, a male, 29 years of age, of Sacramento, Calif.
Braswell was assisted in the arrest and transport of the marijuana by Bingham County Sheriff 's deputies.
Xiong has been charged with one count of felony delivery of a controlled substance and one count of felony possession of a controlled substance.
Xiong is currently in the Bingham County Jail with bond set at $50,000. He is awaiting a preliminary hearing.
