Blackfoot teens make music video
BLACKFOOT — Blackfoot teens Cameron Baker (vocalist) and Josh Spencer (pianist) had their first taste of performing live music together in a large concert venue Tuesday evening in Salt Lake City and now have their first music video out on Youtube.
The teens were chosen from an audition tape to open for popular singer Dia Frampton (well known for being a runner up on the reality TV show - 'The Voice') at the concert venue 'The Complex'.
"I was a little nervous stepping out and singing that first song," Baker said, "but then I was able to relax a little and enjoy the moments."
Baker said they played five original pieces and were on stage for about 30 minutes.
Baker and Spencer are hoping to draw more exposure to their music with the launch of their first music video out on Youtube this week. The featured song is an original by Baker called "Own The Night" - a song he wrote and performed last April to ask a date to the Blackfoot High School prom.
"The music video was modeled around that scenario [asking a girl to the prom]," Baker said.
The music video was filmed an edited locally by Robert Cannon of Blackfoot and showcases local scenery.
The video can be viewed by googling: Cameron Baker Own The Night.
Baker will start college at Westminster College in Salt Lake City this fall where he will major in music and elementary education. Spencer will be a junior at Blackfoot High School.
Baker is the son of Robin and Amber Baker of Blackfoot. Spencer is the son of Ken and Marnie Spencer of Blackfoot.
