SHOW LOW, Ariz. — A woman police say is from Blackfoot was arrested in Arizona Sunday after she was found driving a stolen vehicle of a murdered woman near the Mexico border.
Gabriela Maldonado, a 21-year-old female, was detained at the border crossing April 30 driving a stolen 2006 Hummer and was arrested for auto theft, according to Show Low Police Chief Jeffrey Smythe.
She is one of three suspects police believe were involved in a double homicide in Show Low, Ariz. Maldonado and Aleksys Lomeli-Garcia, 19, attempted to cross the border into Mexico driving the victim's vehicles. Lomeli-Garcia has been arrested for auto theft and first degree murder.
A third suspect, Jose Eduardo "Carlos" Alvarez-Gamez is believed to be in Mexico. A warrant has been issued for his arrest.
After the two were detained at the border in the stolen vehicles, officers were contacted to check on the welfare of the owner, Christina Wollesen-Felton, 46, of Show Low, and Kevin Richard Meisinger, 45, of Joilet, Mont. with a prior residence in Lander, Wyo.
Police found both victims murdered in the master bedroom of Wollesen-Felton's home. They have not released the cause of death but believe they were killed approximately 8 p.m. April 29.
Show Low Police say Lomeli-Garcia and Alvarez-Gamez were infrequently employed by Wollesen-Felton.
