Blanche V. Davis Gay Jones, 93, of Riverside, passed away on Friday, May 13, 2011 at her home in Riverside surrounded by her family.
Blanche was born April 27, 1918 on a dry farm in Clark County, Idaho. She was the first of ten children born to Minnie S. Berry Davis and Howard Milton Davis.
She eventually moved to the Blackfoot area where she married Walter Scott Gay on May 11, 1936 in Brigham City, Utah.
She was a faithful member of the Episcopal Church. Blanche had a great love for her family, friends, many pets, travel, hunting, fishing, and the outdoors.
She is survived by her children Walter (Irma) Gay and, Irene (Mel) Blackburn both of Blackfoot, and a daughter in law Joan Gay of Riverside; 11 Grandchildren, 18 Great Grandchildren, and One Great, Great Granddaughter Libby Grace Clark. She is also survived by her siblings, Shirley (Bonnie) Davis Uma, AZ, Norma (Frankie) Echeveria Blackfoot, ID, Lucille Zahan of Twin Bridges, MT, Curtis Davis of Glens Ferry, ID, Larry (Betty) Davis of Blackfoot, ID and Warren Davis of Blackfoot, ID.
She was preceded in death by her husband Walter Gay; her son Gary Gay; siblings Irene Hendricks, Grace Orr, and Elmer Davis; and her second husband Walter Ed Jones.
Funeral services will be held at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 South Shilling in Blackfoot, on Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at 2 p.m. with Gene and Karen Baunert officiating.
The family will meet with friends and family for one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Grove City Cemetery.
