Seniors who receive Meals on Wheels from the Blackfoot Senior Citizens Center will also receive two blankets. The blankets are supplied by Women of Monday Night Football at The Colonial Inn in Blackfoot.
"This year, seniors will receive two blankets well as a meal," Tera Young, Coordinator of Meals on Wheels, said. "This year, this group of ladies donated 204 blankets to seniors who also receive meals with Meals on Wheels. Last year, they gave $500 to go toward Meals on Wheels."
The ladies who made the blankets are Frankie Creasey, Jamie Williams, Lori Shoemaker, Brandi Williams, Karen Pratt and Maryella Lora and her family.
A scout troop has gathered laundry soap that will also be given to seniors.
Speaking of Meals on Wheels, Pam Beus, director of the senior citizens' center, said, "We are always looking for drivers or people who would prefer to ride along. The ride along people take the meal to the seniors door."
Meals on Wheels operates four day each week, Monday through Thursday. Seniors receive one meal each day from Monday through Wednesday and two meals on Thursday.
