'Brigadoon' opens Friday at Nuart Theater

The Morning News—Melanie Moore The Blackfoot Community Players present the musical "Brigadoon" at the Nuart Theater. The show opens Friday at 7:30 p.m. and continues Saturday, Monday and March 2, 3 and 5.

The Blackfoot Community Players are pleased to announce the production of the iconic stage musical "Brigadoon." The musical opens Friday at 7:30 p.m. at the Nuart Theater, 195 N. Broadway.
This highly celebrated classic has been given an up-to-date feel under the direction of Bryce and Amy Moser and follows the original screenplay of a young man who falls in love with a beautiful Scottish girl from a town that appears once every 100 hundred years. Several talented local artists are part of the production.
This adaptation of the original screenplay produced with book and lyrics by Alan J. Lerner and music by Frederick Loewe, features songs such as "Almost Like Being in Love."
Two American tourists, lost in the Scottish Highlands, stumble upon the village just as a wedding is about to be celebrated, and their arrival has serious implications for the village's inhabitants.
The original production opened on Broadway in 1947 with multiple highly successful openings and later a motion picture was produced starring Gene Kelley and Cyd Charisse.
"Brigadoon" opens Friday at the Nuart Theater and continues Saturday, Monday and March 2, 3 and 5. All shows will be at 7:30 p.m. with a 2 p.m. matinee March 3.
Opening night tickets are $5 and all other showings will be $7.
