Carol Inez Vogler, 63, of Blackfoot passed away Thursday, Aug. 23, 2012, at her home from cancer.
She was born Sept. 25, 1948, in Santa Cruz, California to Renaldo J. Egbert and Yvonne Hale Egbert.
Carol and her family lived in Santa Cruz, Calif., until she was through the sixth grade at which time the family moved to Oakley, Idaho. She graduated from Oakley High School in 1966.
She attended Automachining Training School in Kansas City, Missouri, and upon her graduation she moved to Vallejo, Calif., where she worked in the naval shipyard as a keypunch operator.Â It was there she met the love of her life, Donald Eugene Vogler.Â They were married Nov. 4, 1967.Â They had three children, James Allen, Michael Lynn and Jennifer Nikelle.Â On Nov. 4, 1977, Carol and Don were sealed in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple.
Carol was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was active in her service there.Â She served as a ward librarian, visiting teacher, Primary teacher, homemaking leader, Primary president, Relief Society president and YW ward and stake camp director which were her favorites.Â She was also a Boy Scout leader, Girl Scout leader and Cub Scout Day Camp director, and Cub Scout mini-Olympic director.Â
She loved camping and would go as often as she could.Â She enjoyed being with her family.
She is survived by her husband, Donald of Blackfoot; two sons, James Allen Vogler of Alaska, Michael Lynn (Jennifer) Vogler of Blackfoot and daughter,Jennifer Nikelle Vogler also of Blackfoot; sister, Karen Marie Beresford of Sedona, Ariz., and brothers, Lynn Jay (Mary) Egbert of Heyburn; Raymond Eugene (Dorothy) Egbert of Star; David James Egbert of Robinson, Tenn.; John Rudy (Marina) Reed of Rupert, and Robert Benjamin (Vickie) Reed of Tucson, Ariz.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2012 at the Hawker Funeral Home, 132 S. Shilling Ave., Blackfoot, with Bishop Jim Thalgott conducting.
The family will meet with friends on Monday, Aug. 27, 2012 from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home and for one hour prior to the service.
Interment will be in the Riverside-Thomas Cemetery.
