Cecelia Gertrude Vogt, 88, of Blackfoot passed away Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013 at Bingham Memorial Hospital in Blackfoot.
She was born July 16, 1924 in Blackfoot, the daughter of Marcus Blenkle and Anna Arvish.
Cecilia attended schools in Blackfoot through the 10th grade
On Oct. 19, 1947, she married Joseph Vogt in San Francisco, Calif. He preceded her in death on July 30, 1995.
She returned to Blackfoot in 1963 where she has resided since. She was a parishioner of the Roman Catholic Church.
One of her favorite hobbies was crocheting. However, she was happiest sitting in front of a penny slot machine. A perfect day for mom would be getting her hair done by her close friend, Margaret Sykes, going gambling, and then to IHOP for pancakes. She also enjoyed a leisurely ride in the country with her daughter, Carol and these rides will be missed greatly. Carol would like to thank Dr. Moser for the excellent care and compassion provided and also to Leslie Seiger for the loving care she gave.
She is survived by a son, Kenneth Vogt of Minnesota; daughters, Cathy Pousson of Oregon and Carol Vogt of Idaho; brothers, Vincent Blenkle of Arizona and Julius Blenkle of Oregon; sister, Patsy Bestony of Florida and two grandchildren, Joseph Orin Call and Alex Larsen.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Joseph and 10 brothers and sisters.
A graveside service will be conducted at noon Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2013 at Grove City Cemetery. The family will meet with friends for one hour prior to the graveside at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 S. Shilling Ave., Blackfoot.
