Chamber seeks nominations for Board

BLACKFOOT — The Blackfoot Chamber of Commerce is seeking nominations of Chamber members to fill three seats on the Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.
The terms of three members on the board will expire at the end of this year. Nominations from the general membership of the Chamber of Commerce to fill these three seats will be accepted until Oct. 14. Nominations can be made by calling the Chamber at 785-0510, emailing or by mail at PO Box 801, Blackfoot, ID 83221.
All Chamber members are invited to nominate someone they think would serve well on their board. The guidelines for nominating a potential board member, voting in a board member, and the responsibilities that go along with being a board member are:
All nominees shall be a member of the Chamber in good standing. Once nominations are final, the Board of Directors shall review the list of nominees and certify that each one is eligible to be listed on the ballot. The general membership will then vote by secret written ballot.
The term shall begin on Jan. 1 and shall be for three years. Board members meet once per month, and members who are not in attendance for more than three of the scheduled meetings during the year may be subject to removal from the Board. The Board shall be responsible for transacting all business matters of the Chamber and setting the goals and priorities of the Chamber.
