Charlene Ann Armey Manwaring, 72, of Blackfoot passed away on Thursday, July 19, 2012, in Salt Lake City, Utah, as the result of an aneurism.
She was born on March 18, 1940, to Rex Carlile Armey and Laura Elda Olsen Armey in Silverlake, Ind.
She graduated from school in May 1958.Â In the 1970's she graduated from cosmetology school and began her own beauty shop in Aberdeen Md.Â Charlene worked hard her whole life and only had one speed, fast and furious.Â If you couldnâ€™t keep up, get out of her way!
She had many hobbies, sewing, crocheting, embroider, reading, piano playing, singing, scrap-booking and caring for her flowers and plants.Â She loved animals, dogs and horses especially.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held various positions: pianist for Relief Society and Primary, Primary counselor and Relief Society president.Â She loved singing in the ward choir and could be counted on to voice her opinion in church.
She is survived by her children, Eva Mae Christensen, Kimberly (Darwin) Olsen, Linda (Doug) Hoffman, Heather Dawn Oâ€™Connor, and Jared (Angela) White Sr.; 25 grandchildren (four of whom she raised) â€” William (Heather) Christensen, Salina Marie Christensen, Matthew (Lisa) Christensen and Sonja Kay Christensensnd 24 great grandchildren.Â Also surviving are her mother, Laura Elda Olsen Howell of Florida; and her siblings, Rex, Thomas and Gary Armey and Linda Armey Wright.
She was preceded in death by her father, Rex C. Armey, and her husband, Hal O. Manwaring.
She loved her family fiercely. Her children and grandchildren were the most important people in her life.Â She lived fast, worked fast and hard and went to her rest as fast.Â We love you, Mom, and will miss you.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, July 24, 2012. at the Blackfoot South Stake Center at 900 Riverton Road in Blackfoot with Bishop Bigler of the Blackfoot 10th Ward conducting.
The family will meet with friedns on Monday from 6-8 p.m. at the Hawker Funeral Home, 132 S. Shilling Ave in Blackfoot and again on Tuesday at the church for an hour prior to services.
Interment will be in the Groveland Cemetery.
