Christina Marie Sorensen, 92, of Blackfoot passed away Thursday, July 21, 2011, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls.
Marie was born Aug. 25, 1918, in Yates, Utah, to Lorenzo and Margaret Munson.Â She lived in Utah until the age of two when she moved to Idaho.Â She spent most of her youth working on the family farm.Â She was next to youngest of five children.
Marie married Harris â€śDocâ€ť Sorensen in Blackfoot.Â They had three sons, Dale, Claren and Grant.Â They were later divorced.
She helped her husband at the veterinarian hospital and was a cook at Bingham Memorial Hospital for 16 years.Â In those 16 years she never missed a day of work.Â In her free time she loved gardening and the outdoors.Â She was always proud of her yard and flowers.
She was a lifetime member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Marie is survived by her son, Dale (Gay Lynne) Sorensen of Leslie; daughters-in-law, Judith Wheeler of Royersford, Penn., and Lola Sorensen; and grandson, James Wheeler of Royersford, Penn.Â She also leaves a large loving extended family of many nieces and nephews.Â With all of them she had many wonderful times and fond memories of them all.Â Marie was a very loving and private lady.Â She will be missed by many.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sons, Claren Wheeler and Grant Sorensen; brother, Grant; and sisters, Lavonia, Ruth and Sarah.
In accordance with her wishes no formal services are being planned at this time.Â Family is under the care of Hawker Funeral Home in Blackfoot.Â Condolences may be sent to the family at email@example.com.
