Clouds will be on the increase this morning, and light snow will develop in the Stanley and Challis area later this morning. Snow will spread to the south and east this afternoon, remaining light. Snow accumulations will continue overnight and through Saturday afternoon, then taper off Saturday night and Sunday. Areas of greater than 6 inches of snow accumulation from Friday morning through Sunday afternoon will include the Idaho Wasatch, and mountain ranges along the Idaho-Wyoming border, and only at elevations above 7000 feet.
In the Snake River plain and eastern Magic Valley, snowfall amounts will range up to 1.5 inches, with higher amounts on the bench areas, up to a storm total of 3 inches. Light snow will develop again on Monday, but most of the upcoming work week appears mostly sunny and dry with a warming trend.
