Colleen Ricks Wren Wood, 79, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 12, 2014, at a local health care facility surrounded by her family.
She was born Nov. 28, 1934, in Blackfoot, Idaho, the daughter of Theron F. Wren andÂ Eltha Maria Ricks Wren.
She grew up in Blackfoot and graduated from Blackfoot High School. Â
She was married to Merlin Eugene Wood who preceded her in death on Jan. 28, 2010.Â She was an endowed member of the LDS Church and also a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.
She had worked as a dental assistant for Dr. Beard and Dr. Clark. She later worked at St. Anthonyâ€™s Hospital as a clerk and switchboard operator.Â Her final job was helping run the City of Chubbuck assisted by Mayor John Cotant.
She enjoyed her family, doing crafts, needlework and quilts.Â She has won many blue ribbons at the Eastern Idaho State Fair with her projects.
She is survived by one son, Marty Wood; two daughters, Darschelle (Chris) Chandler, Launali (Ray) Leo, and several grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her six brothers, Claude, Monte, Thead, Ward, Keith and Bobby Wren; three sisters, Mona Hamilton, Betty Gifford and Ilene Young and a half sister, Ruby Mattern.
Services will be conducted Wednesday, July 16, 2014, at the Hawker Funeral Home at 132 S. Shilling Ave. Blackfoot.Â There will also be a viewing on Tuesday at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. and again on Wednesday for an hour prior to services.
Interment will be in the Riverside- Thomas Cemetery.Â Condolences can be sent to email@example.com
