This trail groomer was built by the Blackfoot Street Department to groom the cross-country skiing trail on the Blackfoot Golf Course. On Tuesday, the City Park and Recreation crew was putting in a base for the course. 'We've gone over the course twice to give it a base,' Park and Rec Superintendent Scott Hays said. 'We've had quite a few requests for a cross-country skiing trail over the years. Ice bicycles, snow shoes and skiers are welcome. There is no charge. No motorized vehicles are allowed. After we get a little more snow; the course will be open right after it is groomed.' The cross-country skiing course encompasses all 18-holes of the golf course; the back nine runs along the river.
