D55 trustees vote no on Crane's contract extension
The Blackfoot School Board of Trustees failed to pass a motion to extend Superintendent Scott Crane’s contract another year during their Thursday night meeting. Crane is currently in the first year of a three-year contract, set to expire July 2014.
A motion to extend the contract by one year failed on a 2-3 vote. Trustees Mary Jo Marlow and Taylor Johansen voted in favor of extending the contract, while Chairman R. Scott Reese, Vice Chairman Pete Lipovac and Trustee Jenny Hong voted in opposition.
Prior to the vote, the trustees met in executive session for about five hours.
