Dale W. Sorensen, 62,
Dale Walter Sorensen 62, of Leslie, Idaho passed away from a heart attack Sunday, Feb. 16, 2014 at Sedgewick Medical Center in Big Springs, Neb.
Dale was born in Blackfoot, Idaho to Harris (Doc)
and Marie Sorensen on Sept. 20, 1951. He was
raised in Blackfoot, graduating from Blackfoot High
School in 1969.
Dale worked for Robison Roofing for many years and
held various other jobs throughout his life. He was a long haul truck driver for Doug Andrus at the time of his death.
He married longtime friend Gay Lynne Bauer June
22, 1985 at the Blackfoot Elks Club where Dale held
the position of Exalted Ruler of BPOE Lodge #1416 in
1987 and 1988.
Dale and Gay Lynne lived in Blackfoot the first few
years of their marriage. On May 3, 2000, they left Blackfoot for Leslie where they purchased land and
took a year to build their dream home. They moved into
that home in June of 2001.
Dale loved the surroundings Leslie had to offer. He loved to watch the wildlife there. He was an avid outdoorsman and fisherman. He was always
available to help in community affairs, especially South
Custer Historical Society as well as willing to help family and neighbors whenever the need arose.
Dale and Gay Lynne love cats and were blessed to have many of them. They also tend to many feral cats to make sure they are well-fed, occassionally getting one to become their friend.
Dale is survived by his wife of 28 years, Gay Lynne;
his mother-in-law, Evadean Bauer of Leslie; two brothers-in-law, one sister in-law and many nieces, nephews, and cousins who loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Claren Wheeler and Grant Sorensen and father in-law, Jim Bauer.

planned. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be sent to
