Dane Tyler Petersen, 17, of Groveland passed away Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2011, in Groveland.
He was born April 28, 1994 in Idaho Falls with his stunning blue eyes and perfect hair, to Chad Tyler and Marsha Richardson Petersen.
Dane attended school at Irving Kindergarten, Groveland and was currently a senior at Blackfoot High School.Â He was very artistic and loved the art classes at school.Â He also helped tutor second grade students in his Momâ€™s class.
He had worked at Miles Bus Co. with his dad and had also helped Kent Gray with his ice business.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he served as president of the Deacon and Teacherâ€™s Quorum and was currently serving as first assistant of the Priest quorum.Â He was just at the point of finishing his Eagle Scout.
Dane was an avid skier and enjoyed fly fishing.Â He was a favorite uncle to his five nieces who were always clamering for his time and attention, which he freely gave.Â He was kind, patient and uplifting to others. Those around him were drawn to his good natured, easy going, loving personality.
He is survived by his parents, Chad and Marsha Petersen of Groveland; siblings, Kathleen (Kent) Parkinson of Twin Falls; Taylor (Amanda) Petersen of Moses Lake, Wash.; Nicole (Travis) Peterson of Magna, Utah; Jonathon (Jessica) Petersen of Shelley; Mickell Petersen of Groveland; five nieces, Camryn, Kendra, Kaydence, Marley Jo, and Corinne; grandparents, Bruce and LaRee Petersen of Layton, Utah.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Grant and Kathleen Richardson.Â Â
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 19, 2011 at the Blackfoot Idaho South LDS Stake Center. 900 Riverton Rd.
The family will meet with friends and family on Sunday from 6-8 p.m. at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 S. Shilling Ave., Blackfoot and for one hour prior to the service at the stake center.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Dane Petersen Memorial Fund at Idaho Central Credit Union, 498 N. Meridian in Blackfoot.
Interment will be in the Groveland Cemetery.
