Dean managed a farm for JR Simplot in the Magic Valley. He returned to the Blackfoot area where he continued to farm for another 25 years.
He retired from farming and sold pivots and irrigation equipment for another seven years after that.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus of Latter-day Saints. He served a mission with his wife at the employment office in Blackfoot. He also served as an ordinance worker in the Idaho Falls Temple as well as many other ward and stake callings.
Dean enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating, classic cars, snowmobiling, watching sports events (especially when his children and grandchildren were involved). He loved dogs and always had one by his side. He especially loved spending time with his family and above all else, his wife.
