Dorothy Helen Croft Elison, 94, of Blackfoot passed away Monday, October 1, 2012 at The Gables in Blackfoot.
She was born May 26, 1918 in Idaho Falls, the daughter of Wilford Woodruff Croft and Charlotte Jemmett.
Dorothy graduated from Idaho Falls High School.
She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she had served as Relief Society president and in various other auxiliaries.Â Â Â
On July 2, 1936, she married Bernell Elison in the Logan LDS Temple.
Dorothy worked as a telephone operator, a clerk at Evan Trading Post and as treasurer for the Blackfoot School District.
She enjoyed reading and traveling with her husband as he raced horses.
She is survived by her children, Gary (Sharon) Elison of Meridian; Kenneth (Vicky) Elison of Firth; Tim (Dedra) Elison of Emmett; and Dennis (Kris) Elison of Blackfoot; 20 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and 26 great- great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernell; three brothers, Frances, Ted and Paul; and a grandson, Shawn Gary Elison.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012 at the Hawker Funeral Home, 132 S. Shilling Ave., Blackfoot,.
The family will meet with family on Friday from 6-8 p.m. and for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Interment will be in the Groveland Cemetery.
