Early voting will begin on Monday and will continue through to Nov. 1.
Early voting for all of the Bingham County elections will be at the Bingham County Courthouse. The hours for early voting will be from 8:30 a.m. to noon and 1-4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Early voting will be for all elections that will be held in Bingham County on Nov. 5.
The cities of Aberdeen, Atomic City, Basalt, Blackfoot, Firth, and Shelley will be having elections. Also the Shelley/Firth Fire District, the North Bingham Library District, and the Groveland Cemetery will be holding elections.
Anyone who lives within a city limit or lives within the Fire, Library, or Cemetery District is eligible to vote in these elections.
Remember to bring your photo ID when you come to vote.
If you are registering to vote for the first time or at a new address, you also need to bring documents to show proof of your new address like a utility bill or something that has been delivered, by the post office, to you at your new address.
"The ballot boxes for early voting are here [in the clerk's office]," said Bingham County Clerk Sara Staub. "After voting, each elector will put his/her ballot right into the ballot can."
Each day, the votes will be gathered in a new ballot can.
At the end of each day, that ballot can will be put into the vault and a new ballot can will be ready for the next day, said Election Director Marlene Jensen.
"All ballots will be counted on election day but not before election day," she said.
"Absentee ballots were mailed out on Thursday," said Jensen. "If people do not receive their absentee ballot by Wednesday, please call the clerk's office at 782-3164.
"If people would like to sign up for absentee voting, there is plenty of time to do that," said Jensen.
For information on the elections or which election you are eligible to vote in, please call Jensen at 782-3164.
