Eileen was born on October 11, 1925 in Toledo, Ohio to Thomas and Freda Aydon Gavin. Her father was a salesman, so in her early years the family moved often, eventually settling in New Jersey where she graduated from Teaneck High School.

After Hal was discharged from the service, they moved back to New Jersey, where they began raising their family and Hal started his business of potato and onion distribution in New York City.
In 1959 Eileen and Hal moved their family to Blackfoot, Idaho where he founded the beginnings of Nonpareil and Eileen took to the task of raising their three children: Bonnie, Randi and Chris.
Eileen was active in the leadership of the Silver Sage Girl Scout Council and a member of the Bingham Memorial Hospital Board at the time the current hospital expansion began.
Eileen was an avid reader, bridge player and an expert at word games. She and Hal traveled the world and visited all 50 states. They particularly loved boating and fishing during the summer months in the Pacific Northwest and loved the warm climate of the Arizona desert in the winter.
She is survived by her children, Bonnie (Bob) Morris, Gresham, Ore.; Randi (Howard) Phillips, Blackfoot, Idaho; and Chris (Kathy) Abend, Blackfoot, Idaho; brothers, Thomas (Camille) Gavin, San Juan Capistrano, Calif.; and Robert (Nancy) Gavin, Canton, Ga.; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
