Elizabeth Benally, 67, of Fort Hall passed away Saturday, Dec. 17, 2011 at her home.
Elizabeth was born June 1, 1944 in Fort Hall to Edward Nappo Sr. and Eula Warren. She attended grade school in Salmon, graduating from Salmon High School. She lived in Salmon, Blackfoot, Fort Hall and Madera, Calif.
In 1971 Elizabeth married Clarence Benally Sr. in Salmon. Together they had three sons, Clarence Jr., Ezra and Conrad.
She was a member of the Episcolpal/Native American Church.
Elizabeth was a Certified Nurses Aide. In her free time, she enjoyed listening to Elvis Presley, traveling, camping, attending pow-wows, watching her grandchildren dance, beading, casino gambling and going to the movies.
She is survived by her husband, Clarence Sr. of Fort Hall; sons, Clarence Benally Jr., Ezra (Tillie) Benally and Conrad Benally, all of Fort Hall; brother, Edward Nappo Jr.; sisters, Irene Ariwite and Tina Graves; and grandchildren, Savon Benally, Atalya Benally, Mary Benally and Ashra Benally.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Eula; brothers, Elsworth Nevada and Neal James Nevada; and sisters, Ella J. Nappo, Ilene Nappo, Themila Nappo and Celestine Nevada.
A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2011 at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 South Shilling Avenue in Blackfoot. Family will meet with friends and relatives after the service until 9 p.m.
A burial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2011 at the Salmon Cemetery in Salmon with Leon Anthony officiating.
