BLACKFOOT — The Blackfoot Elks Lodge is raffling a Herby Derby demolition car to raise money for area youth organizations. The winner of the raffle will drive the bright red car at the demolition derby at the Eastern Idaho State Fair Sept. 10 for a chance to win up to $1,000.
Raffle tickets are $5 and can be purchased at Blackfoot Motorsports, Bowers Collision, Rupe's Burgers and at the Blackfoot Elks Lodge. The winner will be drawn Sept. 9. All safety equipment will be provided to the driver.
"All we need is someone with a little courage and luck," Demolition Derby Chairman Doug Bowers said.
The number 20 red Toyota Celica has been parked in front of Blackfoot Motorsports and will be moved to Rupe's Burgers today.
The winner of the car will battle with other minis during the demolition derby Sept. 10. There will also be a full-size class and a powder puff heat during the derby.
All the funds raised at the demolition derby and through the raffle will be donated to the Elks Lodge to benefit youth organizations throughout Bingham County including the Youth Coalition, area youth sports teams, Boy/Girl Scouts and various Elks programs benefiting children. Last year $37,000 was raised.
