Elsie Irene Nation, 82, of Blackfoot passed away Monday, Jan. 3, 2011, at The Willows after a battle with pancreatic cancer.Â Elsie was under the care of Blackfoot Home Health and Hospice.
Elsie was born March 2, 1928, in Montrose, Colo., to Jeanetta Mae and Albert Bellgardt, Jr.Â She married John L. Nation on May 19, 1945, in Montrose, Colo.Â Elsie and John had two children, John Jr. and Loretta.Â They moved to Preston in 1951 and shortly after to Blackfoot, where they have resided ever since with exception of two years in which they moved back to Montrose, Colo., to be close to Elsieâ€™s mother who had suffered and survived a stroke.
Elsie worked for the starch plant from 1962 until 1972 when John and Elsie opened their own business, Johnâ€™s Auto Body, in Blackfoot. Elsie worked at Johnâ€™s Auto Body as the bookkeeper and secretary until she retired in 1990.
Elsie is survived by her husband, John L. Nation of Blackfoot; two children, John L (Nancy) Nation, Jr. of Blackfoot and Loretta Moses of Idaho Falls; two grandchildren, Stephanie (Jim) Liddle of Idaho Falls and Scott (Bonnie) Moses of Victor; and five great-grandchildren, Shaylee, Tayla, Jaiden Liddle and Hannah and Cora Moses.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; and a sister.
The family will meet with family and friends from 7 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 6, 2011, at Hawker Funeral Home, 132 South Shilling Avenue in Blackfoot.Â A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 10, 2011, at Crippin Funeral Home, 802 East Main in Montrose, Colo., with visitation one hour prior to services at Crippin Funeral Home.Â Interment will follow services at the Grand View Cemetery and Crematory in Montrose, Colo.
