Evelyn Ruth Leffler, 85, of Blackfoot, passed away Saturday, Dec. 17, 2011 at her home.
She was born Dec. 11, 1926 in Leadore to Samuel William and Minnie Christina Michaelis Sims. She was raised and received her education in Leadore. During her lifetime she has lived in Wyoming, Utah, Colorado, Montana, Arizona and in Blackfoot since 1978.
On May 24, 1947 she married Keith D. Leffler in Dillon, Mont. He preceded her in death.
Evelyn was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church.
In the early years of her marriage she worked at J.C. Penneyâ€™s.
She enjoyed camping, traveling and Bingo, when she was younger she enjoyed doing various crafts.
She is survived by her son, Gary K. Leffler of Salt Lake City, Utah; her daughter, Christie R. Cloward of Blackfoot; four grandchildren, Chad, Kyle and Matthew Leffler and Jason Cloward; and two great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother, Don Sims, of Salmon; three sisters, Violet Hill and Ethel Savage, both of Blackfoot, and Esther Keppner of Challis.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; four brothers, Harry, Ralph, Elmer and Bud Sims and four sisters, Hilda Gustofson, Edna Halverson, Minnie Daniels and Ella Howell.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2011 at the Emanuel Lutheran Church with Pastor John Stevens officiating. The family will meet with friends and family Wednesday from noon to 1 p.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Grove City Cemetery.
