Firth man shot, killed in Idaho Falls

March 22, 2011

IDAHO FALLS — Idaho Falls police say an argument in a motel parking lot led to a chase and shooting that left one man dead. Officers are seeking two persons of interest.

Sgt. Phil Grimes said 24-year-old Anthony Keith Camp of Firth was shot in the back while he was driving and his car struck a parked car and then crashed into a house at about 3 a.m. Tuesday. Camp died at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. His female passenger had minor injuries.

Grimes says detectives have identified two "persons of interest" in the shooting — Jayson Burns, 22, and Geoffrey Salem Elawadly, 23, who Grimes says should be considered armed and dangerous. Burns has a newer model GMC extended cab pickup.

Burns is described as being a white male who is 5'7" and 205 pounds. Elawadly is Hispanic, 6'1" and 200 pounds.
