There were plenty of police officers and guns in Firth for about three hours on Saturday afternoon.
Law enforcement officers were responding to a stabbing in an alley in Firth. The suspect, identified on Sunday as 55-year-old Roger Arellano, had barricaded himself in a house on Wilson Street.
âI was watching it from a fire truck,â said Firth Mayor Vincent Winn Larson. âWe were just doing traffic control.
âThere sure were a lot of officers with a lot of guns,â he said. âThey took their time; no one else was hurt.
â[The police officers] did a good job,â said Larson. âThey got it resolved peacefully.
âThere sure are a lot of people to protect you when needed,â said Larson. âThey handled the situation in a responsible manner.â
