Florence Margaret Hall, 95, passed away Saturday, Jan. 1, 2011, at the Bingham Memorial Skilled Nursing and Rehab.
Florence was born June 5, 1915, in Idaho Falls to Ernest Malcom and Augusta Marie Nelson Carlson.Â She has lived her entire life in Bingham County.Â To fund her education she worked for the Dyer and Foster families; she graduated from Shelley High School.
On April 18, 1942, she married Claude Hall, in Dillon, Mont.Â He preceded her in death on March 30, 2004.Â Â Â
She was a member of the Emanuel Lutheran Church.Â Florence was active in the Christian Ladies Aid Group and has served as a past president.Â One of the highlights of her Christian life was traveling to the Holy Land.
She was a devoted mother and always made sure her children were involved in music and took piano lessons.
Florence was a writer for the newspapers and sold Avon for many years.
She enjoyed gardening, flowers, music and attending musical events.Â She was a great cook and loved hosting parties and entertaining friends.
Florence is survived by her children: Carol (Jerry) Steffensen of Soda Springs; Marsha Wujick and Joyce Hall, both of Blackfoot; Linnea (Russell) Hammond of Pingree; Barbara (Phillip) Adamek of Lewiston; step-daughter, Doris (Vernal) Hawkes of Twin Falls; 17 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Hall; her parents; four brothers, Floyd Carlson, Kenneth Carlson, Marvin Carlson, Vaughn Carlson and two step-sons, Herbert Hall and Odell Hall.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan.Â 8, 2011, at the Emanuel Lutheran Church with Pastor John Stevens officiating.Â The family will meet with friends and relatives from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 7, 2011, at Hawker Funeral Home and again for one hour prior to service at the church.
Interment will be in the Riverside-Thomas Cemetery.
