Florien Van Sickle, a 76-year-old Blackfoot resident, died Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2010, in Pocatello.
She was born Oct. 8, 1934, in Minneapolis, Minn., the daughter of Peter Misch and Florence Roggie Misch.
She moved to California at age 8 and in 1952 at the age of 17 married Harold Van Sickle, in Reno, Nev. They moved to Jefferson, Iowa after Harold was discharged from the Navy and moved back to California in 1970. They lived there until 1992 when they moved to Southeast Idaho and have lived here since.
She was a member of the Methodist Church and past Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star.
She enjoyed crossword puzzles, fishing and hunting and spending time in the outdoors. She especially enjoyed her family and family reunions.
Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Harold Van Sickle of Blackfoot; two sons, Nicholas of Blackfoot and David (Pam) of Danville, Calif.; one daughter, Cindy (Ron) Kendrick of Blackfoot; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers, Jerry (Carol) Misch, Sparks, Nev.; Buddy (Kathy) Carr, Sacramento, Calif.; and a sister Sharon (Bobby) Ludrick of Medford, Ore.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her stepfather, Leo Carr, and a brother Sonny Misch.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 6, 2010, at the Grove City Cemetery. The family will meet with friends prior from 10-10:45 at the Hawker Funeral Home, 132 S. Shilling Ave before traveling to the cemetery.
