Floyd Roland Wells, age 74, and his wife, Karen Marie Erickson Wells, age 73, of Queen Creek, AZ (formally of Mesa) passed away on May 30, 2012, in Fillmore, Utah, following an automobile accident.
Floyd was born in Springfield, Idaho, to Heber and Lucy Wells. Karen was born in Glendale, Calif., to Ervin and Viola Erickson. The couple attended and met at Brigham Young University. They were married in the Los Angeles LDS Temple for time and all eternity.Â They celebrated 45 years together.
Floyd retired from the Phoenix Unified High School District after 29 years. Karen was a homemaker and taught in the Tempe and Mesa Unified School Districts.
They served a full-time LDS mission in Little Rock, Ark. Floyd and Karen are survived by their five children and 13 grandchildren: Lance C. Wells (Erinn) - Joey and Porter; Cynthia L. Wells-King (Michael) - Timothy, Kelsey and Megan; Travis S. Wells (MaryAnn) - Hayley, Cameron, Tanner and Dylan; Wendy M. Echols (Anson) - Chase, Lydia, Melanie and Kodiac; Ryan Jonathan Wells.
Floyd was preceded in death by his sisters Lenora and Joyce Wells, Edith Mangum (Blackfoot) and survived by his siblings Glen Wells (Blackfoot) and Evelyn Adams (Idaho Falls).
Karen was preceded in death by her brother Ronald Erickson (Kirkland, Wash.) and survived by her sister Shirley Calder (Orem, Utah). They leave behind many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Thursday, June 7, 2012, from 6-8 p.m. at Bunkerâ€™s Garden Chapel, 33 N. Centennial Way, Mesa, Ariz.
Funeral services will be Friday, June 8, at 10 a.m. at the LDS Chapel at 3580 E. Houston Ave. Gilbert, Ariz. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m.
Interment will follow at Mountain View Memorial Gardens, 7900 East Main, Mesa, Ariz. They are remembered by the love they showed towards their faith, family and friends.
