Our beloved mother, Fredrice Smith Morgan, 94, passed away 6 May 2014 at her home due to natural causes.
She was born to Edith Mitchell and Samuel Franklin Smith on 8 Feb. 1920 in Ora, Idaho. She was the eighth child with two sisters and five brothers.
She attended Moreland schools and graduated at age 16.
She married Merrill J Morgan on 8 May 1937 in Blackfoot, Idaho.Â Their marriage was sealed in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple 15 Dec. 1995.Â They worked hard building up their farm and dairy and home in Riverside, Idaho, where they enjoyed many years together with their wonderful neighbors. They moved to east Riverside in 1965 where Freddie has lived ever since.Â
She loved life, her posterity, her friends, who were many, and she loved her home and taking care of her flowers and garden. Freddie took great delight in baking beautiful pies, cinnamon rolls and bread and sharing with her family and friends. She was a wonderful homemaker always taking care of others needs before her own.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, serving in many callings. Her favorite was teaching the Sunbeams. For many years she provided a flower arrangement for the chapel each Sunday.
She wasÂ a member of the Homemakers Club, Sweet Adelines,and had a wedding catering service for many years.Â
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Merrill; a daughter Marilyn; a son LeGrande (Linda);Â and brothers, Frank,Â Lowell (Alice and Merle) Smith, Fayette (Lola) Smith, Rulon (Frances) Smith, Dennis (Reoma) Smith and sister Areta (Theron) Chamberlain and a grandson, Clinton Polatis.
She is survived by a sister Della (Burdette) Pixton; and two sons, Neil (Julie) Morgan, Merlin (SueZan) Morgan and a daughter, Kathy (Richard) Polatis; 17 grandchildren, 52 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday, May 12,Â at 11 a.m. at the Groveland LDS Church building, 155 North 380 West, Blackfoot, Idaho.Â
A viewing will take place at the Hawker Funeral Home, 132 S. Shilling Ave., Sunday May 11th from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.Â and one hour prior to the services. Interment will follow the services in the Riverside-Thomas Cemetery.
