Fundraisers scheduled for Shelley teacher
Hobbs Middle School teacher Jill Wray is undergoing treatments for cancer. She teaches home economics and science.
Three boys in Natural Helpers decided they could help Wray and her family, said Teresa Dye, the club's advisor at Shelley High School.
"They wanted to let them know that we care," Dye said.
The 22 students in the Natural Helpers class at Shelley High School had been challenged to make "an ultimate gift."
Two businesses are donating to the Wray fundraiser.
To raise funds for Wray and her family, Buffalo Wild Wings in Idaho Falls has agreed to donate proceeds during the week of Feb. 13 through Feb. 19.
Buffalo Wild Wings at 1430 Milligan Road in Idaho Falls will donate 10 percent of all pre-taxed food sales (less alcohol and promotional discounts) from any guest who presents a fundraising ticket during the week.
People need to present a coupon when they go to pay. Coupons can be downloaded from the website, www.shelleyschools.org . The coupon will be found under "Important School Information." If possible, please print the coupon on pink paper.
People are welcome to eat at the restaurant as often as they like. Just present a new coupon with each visit.
"We want to give back to Idaho Falls and communities in the surrounding area," said Buffalo Wild Wings manager Matt Putnam. He is a 2001 SHS graduate.
"We want to make sure we're helping out our communities," Putnam said.
Another business in Shelley, A & B Transmission & Service Center, Inc., at 183 E. Center St. will donate $5 to the Wray fundraiser for each oil change during the months of February, March and April.
"We want to do what we can to help."
Making an appointment for an oil change at A & B Transmission is preferable but not necessary.
