Members of the 116th Cavalry Brigade Combat Team will depart Idaho Tuesday. Five flights will be leaving Eastern Idaho.
BLACKFOOT â€” National Guard soldiers from the 116th Cavalry Brigade Combat Team from throughout Idaho are departing today for Camp Shelby in Mississippi.
Three planes are departing from the Idaho Falls Airport this morning between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. This afternoon, two planes will depart from the Pocatello Regional Airport between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m.
Prior to the flights departing, informal sendoff opportunities are available for families, friends and soldiers to say farewell. The soldiers are leaving Idaho for Camp Shelby, where they will receive additional training for approximately 45 days.
They will then go on to Kuwait and Iraq in November for approximately 10 months. Deploying soldiers are not expected back to Idaho until September 2011.
