Hard work pays off for Idaho State quarterback

August 11, 2014

Morning News — Jason Enes Idaho State quarterback Justin Arias looks downfield during a game against Dixie State on Sept. 7, 2013.

Justin Arias is a student.   He is not only a student of the game of football but he is an excellent student in the classroom. Arias will leave Idaho State in December with his master's degree. That success in the classroom has correlated into success on the football field for the senior Bengal quarterback.
"It is a personal character trait," Arias said. "If you are going to work hard in school it is going to translate into anything you want to do. If you want to succeed in anything you want to do, you will have to work hard."
Since arriving to Pocatello in 2011 Arias has spent time learning how to read defenses and identifying his role in working with the offensive line on every play.
"When I first got here it was a culture change and reading the defense was a big problem for me as far as coverage-wise and being so involved in pass protection," Arias said.
